About one-in-ten exhibitors to the PPMA Show, the UK’s annual showcase for processing and packaging machinery, will be new to the event, if the numbers signing up continue at the present rate.
To date, the event’s organisers say that more than 80 per cent of floor space has been booked, and of the 250+ exhibitors that have committed themselves to the show, 23 will be new names.
“The PPMA Show has a proud reputation, based on 21 years of excellence,” comments Deborah Conneely, the event’s marketing manager. “We are delighted that the exhibition remains an attractive proposition for a wide variety of outstanding machinery and equipment suppliers.”
Among the first-time exhibitors will be international companies keen to increase their presence in the country, such as Wenglor Sensoric Ltd, a German-owned manufacturer of photoelectric and inductive sensors, image processing, OCR readers, barcode scanners and safety technology.
“The Wenglor brand is well known in Europe, but in the past we didn’t necessarily have the right products to exhibit in the UK,” explains the company’s James Mayo. “We have just launched a new range of IP69K photo-electric sensors for the food and related industries, and as the foremost UK exhibition we see the PPMA Show as a vital aid to help us reach potential customers.”
The PPMA Show 2009 takes place at the NEC Birmingham, from 29 September to 1 October.
