Polymer launches from Nova innovene

19 May 2006

Nova Innovene has introduced a high heat copolymer for microwaveable food packaging, offering fast cycle times, enhanced saleability, excellent printability and higher material yields.

The newest addition to the company’s Dylark resins family, Dylark FG 2500 combines low temperature toughness with high temperature rigidity for “superior freezer-to-microwave performance”. Designed and developed to withstand temperature ranges from -40 to +125 degs C, the copolymer is “ideally suited” to restaurant takeaway containers, food serviceware and freezer-to-microwave meals. It can be processed on existing polystyrene or PET equipment, downgauged and lightweighted and used to make clear, opaque, tinted and foam containers. FDA and EU Directive 2002/72 compliant, Dylark FG resins also offer “excellent organoleptics and are fully recyclable.

Also new from Nova Innovene is Zylar EX 720 clear acrylic copolymer, offering “unmatched low temperature toughness and excellent clarity” and to be ideal for refrigerated and frozen food packaging. Compatible with existing PS processing equipment, Zylar EX offers hot and cold temperature performance from –40 - +80 degs C and “excellent” cold temperature impact resistance and can be used to design complex shapes.
