Rigid box specialist Pollard Boxes is investing in excess of £1 million in the installation of new equipment and expansion of facilities at its purpose-built factory in Leicester, UK.
The latest investment includes the purchase of a new Sakurai screen printer, which will enable the company to offer off-line spot UV varnish, silk screen printing and some very special finishes only possible with the silk screen process.
According to the company, the move will make Pollard the first UK box manufacturer to offer this type of printing and finishing in-house.
The purchase of the £250,000 Sakurai printer brings Pollard’s total investment in print finishing alone to “in excess of £600,000” in the last three years.
Other equipment installed recently by Pollard includes a Paperplast thermo film lamination line and a fully rebuilt Heidelberg foil blocking machine, which complement a previously installed Autobond wet film lamination line.
“We are well-known throughout the industry as one of the best invested rigid box manufacturers in Europe,” says managing director Mark Pollard.
“These latest initiatives demonstrate our commitment to remaining out in front and ensuring we offer our customers the highest standards of manufacturing excellence and service support.”
