Plastique gives Parker's pens floating sensation

5 May 2004

Tonbridge-based plastic packaging specialist Plastique has successfully met a Parker Pen brief to design and produce a pack that would allow the company's products to "appear to float".

Plastique used its considerable previous experience and the latest design technology to manufacture a range of thermoformed acetate cartons which give the impression that the pens are actually floating in mid-air.

A range of inserts were developed that hold the pens in position by using carefully engineered undercuts within the forming that securely clip the pens into place and prevent rotation or movement throughout the distribution and retail process.

Plastique believes the end result is a distinctive, strong and secure pack that visually enhances the products, giving Parker a clear competitive advantage.
