PKP caps cosmetic production costs

18 November 2003

French company PKB has developed a new cosmetic rotary filler/capper, which operates at 200 bottles/min. The Cosmo is designed for filling and capping liquid and semi-liquid products from 30-500ml.

PKB has installed as standard 16 ceramic pumps with membrane valves for seal-free operations, ensuring no retention areas.

There are said to be considerable economic advantages of the PKB multiformat approach. It means that producing bottles of various shapes and sizes is no longer a problem, the range of machines required is considerably simplified, there is a substantial savings in floor space and there are lower maintenance costs.

The company says prices are significantly lower compared with a more bulky line and producing short run bottles of various shapes and sizes can now be carried out cost effectively.
