PET jar gives clarity to Millions

20 November 2007

Golden Casket, manufacturer of Millions, first adopted the eye-catching jar design in the 1990s, with the pack instantly recognisable thanks to its sides’ “bubbled” surface, resembling the shape of the candy inside, and the character branding applied to the large front panel.

When the original jar producer went bankrupt, Golden Casket turned to RPC Blackburn to continue production. Faced with the need to create new tooling, the plastic packaging specialist suggested a redesign to strengthen the decorative profile of the front panel by making it flatter. Simultaneously it proposed a change of material from PVC to PET with its greater clarity.
