Pesticide packs dissolve in water

13 October 2006

Technology group Enviroquest has formulated pesticide treatments with a delivery system that dissolves in water. The benefits are said to include precise dosing and the removal of any contaminated packaging waste.

The patented Aqua-Pack is an outcome of the Derby-based company's aim to develop packaging systems which lessen the environmental impact of chemicals and reduce operator exposure to them.

By avoiding the need for large plastic or metal containers of chemicals Aqua-Pack can “significantly” reduce the amount of waste produced, says Enviroquest.

The company was regional winner for the Midlands and East of the UK's National Business Awards and is in the running to win the business innovation award, to be presented on November 7 at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.
