PCA completes Boise Inc. acquisition

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) has completed its acquisition of Idaho-based paper packaging products manufacturer Boise Inc., such that Boise is now a wholly owned subsidiary of PCA.

Headquartered in Lake Forest, Illinois, the new combined company becomes the fourth largest producer of containerboard and corrugated packaging products in the United States.

PCA will now operate eight mills and 97 corrugated product plants and related facilities.

PCA is the third largest producer of uncoated freesheet paper in North America, and paper products include imaging papers for the office and home, printing and converting papers, and papers used in packaging, such as pressure sensitive papers.
