Paxiom moves into flow wrapping with Sleek 60 launch

2 August 2013

Paxiom Group has entered the flow wrapping sector with the launch of the Sleek 60 Wrapper.

The Canada-based packaging machinery manufacturer says its new state-of-the-art servo driven horizontal wrapping machine is designed with reliability, simplicity, cleanability, and serviceability in mind, and is manufactured using mostly 304 stainless steel and well-known brand componentry for ‘off the shelf’ availability.

According to the company, the Sleek 60 Wrapper is easily capable of wrapping 60 packages/min. The machine can be configured to handle a package size range from 1 inch wide x 3.75 inches high x 3 inches long, to 6.5 inches x 3.75 inches x 10 inches.

The variable speed control can adjust flow rate for manual and automatic feeding onto the conveyor.

Gas flush capabilities can be fitted, as well as printing and or labelling attachments for product identification or code dating.

Standard features include precise PID temperature control, pre-programmed and stored product set up, stainless steel frame construction, user friendly colour touch screen HMI, adjustable forming box, auto open/close rotary finwheel assembly and rotary seal jaws with jam detecting logic.

The infeed conveyor is available extended to 12 feet (3.5 metres) long if required.

Eye mark sensing devices mounted on the film unwind roller assembly allow for the straightforward running of registered printed roll stock film, and gusseting attachments are available to produce a tight wrap on high profile items.

“The Sleek 60 Wrapper can flow wrap just about any type product with and without a tray effectively, efficiently and with years of reliable service,” Paxiom Group says.

The Paxiom Group has been manufacturing vertical form and seal equipment for over 20 years and has gained experience in film handling and sealing.

The Sleek 60 Wrapper is said to fit well with the product line and knowledge base of the engineering, sales and technical support staff at both Paxiom facilities in the US and Canada.
