Paxiom launches ‘versatile’ Breezy Bagger machine

13 June 2013

Paxiom Group has launched Breezy Bagger, a packaging machine said to combine horizontal wrapping and vertical bagging in a single, multi-functional machine via a new tilting mechanism.

The Canada-based packaging machinery manufacturer and services provider says there is no comparable machine on the market, in that Breezy Bagger’s tilting function allows users to pack, wrap and bag many types of products both vertically and horizontally.

Designed specifically to package all types of shaped products into either a laminated or polyethylene material, the new compact bagger is said to be easy to use, very flexible and extremely versatile.

“The unique pivoting function allows the machine to tilt from a horizontal position to almost vertical,” the company says.

“The product being wrapped or bagged can be hand loaded or fed automatically with many types of ancillary machines and methods.”

The bag width and length are fully adjustable with no change parts and no forming shoulder and tube – the hand crank adjustment for pack width can adjust from a 2-inch width to almost 12 inches, while the bag length can vary from 2-36 inches.

A choice of length sensing detection and operational logic means the Breezy Bagger can detect the length of product and make the bag according to the length of product, thereby offering potential cost savings on materials.

“An operator can feed a product of 6 inches long for a few minutes, and then feed a product 12 inches long with absolutely no adjustment,” Paxiom says.

Other sequences of operation allow the user to produce a fixed bag length either above or below the seal jaws.

Applications for the new Breezy Bagger range, in the vertical position, from individual baked dinner rolls and single items of fresh produce or rose stems, through to hardware such as furniture kits with screws and brackets or curtain rods; or, in the horizontal position, tray-wrapped products as on a horizontal flow-wrapper.

According to Paxiom, the Breezy Bagger can cycle and produce up to 30 packs per minute and is “relatively inexpensive”.

“An end user can achieve a quick ROI by using roll stock instead of pre-made bags,” the company says. “The Breezy Bagger is a machine that is so versatile that every packager can find use for this new technology.”
