Patchwork invests in pâté packaging line
The Patchwork Traditional Food Company, a producer of handmade foods from the Welsh countryside, is investing in its pâtés and accompaniments production lines.
New packaging equipment is being supplied by Lancashire-based food depositor and filling specialist, Riggs Autopack. When fully installed, the machinery will enable the Patchwork production teams to pack their pâtés at three times the current rate, boosting efficiency at the Ruthin factory.
The pâtés and accompaniments will continue to be hand made in small batches, maintaining the authenticity of every Patchwork product.
Margaret Carter, founder of Patchwork, said: "This purpose-built packing line will improve the linear flow in the production hall and streamline the packaging process. As well as improving efficiency, it will improve the service we offer customers and meet growing demand for Patchwork pâtés without compromising the quality of the product."
Everyone in the Patchwork production team - who currently pack every product by hand - has been involved in the planning stages.
Patchwork's products are free from artificial additives, stabilisers, preservatives or hydrogenated fats and contain only the highest quality ingredients. The company hand makes its products on a scale small enough to ensure textures and flavours are authentic, yet large enough to meet growing demand.
Other Patchwork products include hummus, chocolate terrines, chutneys and soups. The company also produces Spelt Oat Fingers, Spelt Blinis and a range of Ice Cream for Grownups - handmade with cream, milk, raw cane sugar and egg yolks.
