In its 50th anniversary year, Pantone has launched pantoneview.com, billed as a digital subscription service devoted solely to colour.
Catering to designers across all areas from fashion and interiors to graphics and branding, the pantoneview.com site features “visual inspiration”, critical colour direction and Pantone’s authoritative global perspective on colour, enabling users to make more informed decisions and perfect their colour strategy, the company says.
“Colour influences 50 to 85 percent of customer purchasing decisions and is the first thing consumers notice about a brand’s logo,” Pantone says.
“Establishing a specific brand colour (or colours) can provide an ‘impramatur’ – a mark of distinction, which also makes the brand more memorable, an important factor in the very competitive marketplace.”
According to Pantone, of the top 100 global brand logos, 32 companies have two or more colours in their design with the most popular combination being blue, red and white.
For single colour logos, black is the most popular choice with 20 brands in the top 100, followed by blue with 18 and red with 16.
