Packaging Innovations lecture to challenge concept of sustainable packaging

30 August 2012

At Packaging Innovations Amsterdam, 29 November, environmental packaging consultant Mark Shayler is to challenge an audience with a keynote address entitled ‘Sustainable packaging: an oxymoron’.

Shayler – director of UK-based Tickety Boo, with 20 years’ experience of challenging the way packaging businesses think about design, innovation and the environment – says his lecture at the Passenger Terminal, Amsterdam will focus on the need “to do things better and to do better things” in packaging.

Highlighting the latest trends and techniques, the lecture will consider whether sustainable packaging actually exists.

Formerly environmental manager at UK supermarket chain Asda, Mark Shayler works with companies such as Coca-Cola, Dorset Cereals, Pret a Manger, Belkin and RS Components to reduce the environmental impact of their packaging and products through better design.

Alongside the Packaging Innovations Amsterdam show, 28-29 November, the new InnoCos Pack packaging conference for senior executives in the cosmetics and personal care industry will also take place.

A showcase for branded packaging in the sector, InnoCos Pack builds on the success of the InnoCos conferences for executives in the cosmetics and personal care industry.
