A new food industry exhibition set to be the UK's biggest food manufacturing show this year will include a central packaging feature, "Pack-it".
To be held at Birmingham's NEC from March 19-22, Food & Drink World '06 has been formed by the co-location of Food & Drink Expo and the Convenience Retailing Show with Foodex Meatex. The 1,250 exhibitors will represent all aspects of food production, food processing and packaging, alongside food safety and hygiene, ingredients, consumables, traceability, IT and logistics.
The Pack-it processing and packaging feature will include a seminar theatre where "experts" will explore topics including shelf-ready packaging, the "marriage of processing and packaging", outsourcing, material and container developments, branding, "intelligent" packaging, nanotechnology, "and much more". Other features will include consultancy "surgeries", packaging displays and sponsor exhibits and activities. Pack-it will be encircled by a Packaging Village featuring exhibitors from across the packaging supply chain.
