Packaging for carnival

11 February 2009

Ball Packaging Europe has partnered with the Comittee Düsseldorfer Carneval and the Frankenheim Brewery to develop a carnival can for Frankenheim Alt beer.

Uwe Stoffels, Marketing Manager, Ball Packaging Europe, commented: "The non-breakable, lightweight beverage can is ideally suited for all Carnival activities. In this way, we are supporting efforts from the city of Düsseldorf to ensure that Carnival is safe and clean - our aim: shard-free fun." The beer has been available from supermarkets and beverage retailers in the city and surrounding area since January.

He continued: "The beverage can is suitable for other large-scale events. It is a good promotion tool - can be completely recycled." The system has been developed by digital print specialist, Tonejet, using inks from Sun Chemical. Due to the development of new digital printing technology, Ball Packaging Europe states it will soon be able to react to current events with individual designs and produce beverage cans for large events practically overnight.
