Packaging Company of the Year

20 November 2009

Staeger Clear Packaging won the Packaging Company of the Year Award at the UK Packaging Awards 2009, in London, recently.

Since its acquisition by the Stäger Group, of Switzerland, the Coventry based rigid plastics carton manufacturer s said to have gone from strength to strength.

The judges were particularly impressed by the company’s financial performance in the current challenging market. Its turnover has more than doubled in the past five years and it continues to invest in new facilities and new markets, with expansion in China a major objective.

On the environmental front, Staeger Clear has spearheaded the use of recycled materials in its production of plastics cartons. The judges commented on the company’s success in going from zero to 80% of turnover in rPET, recycled PET, as a major initiative.

The judges’ overall verdict was: “The passion for what they do is an attribute of the whole team. They are a worthy winner”.
