Pack with x-ray specs

21 October 2003

DS Smith Tri-Wall has developed a container to protect health and pharmaceutical contents against radiation.

The container is being used to store saline injection fluids that are used when X-raying the human body. The pack replaces a 190kg wooden crate, with internal bracing for distribution that was prone to damage when shipped as a complete unit. The new pack has been modified so that each component of the X-ray shielding container is a separate unit. Self-locking trays were used, and each inter-locks with the tray beneath and above.
