Research chemicals company Lancaster Synthesis has developed a patented packaging system that is designed to protect air-sensitive chemicals and increase reusability and product shelf life.
SynthaSeal is billed as a unique bottle and cap combination. Based on a standard 100ml bottle, it features a specially designed flange. A tamper evident aluminium crimped cap seals an air-tight PTFE-lined rubber septum to the bottle neck. The cap features a rubber-backed PTFE liner to enhance the seal.
Iain Cooke, sales and marketing director, said: "We looked around the market for the ideal packaging for our products and it didn't exist – so we have invented our own. The pack has the potential to save research chemical costs because of its extensive reusability."
