Sustainable business organisation Envirowise has launched an online tool to help businesses reduce the environmental impact of their packaging designs.
The Packaging indicator tool for eco-design, which was piloted by Mars Snackfood, is designed to enable businesses to compare the environmental profile of their own packaging options, helping them to improve designs.
Matt Boulter, of the European Packaging Sustainability team at Mars, says: "We needed an effective tool with the right level of detail to use when considering a new packaging design or re-design. The tool designed by Envirowise has proved extremely useful in our product development process."
