Ocme pushes the boundaries of wraparound case packing

4 January 2008

The first high speed Altair machine has been installed at CR Breweries in China – a joint venture between CR Enterprise and SAB Miller which operates 35 breweries producing 4.12m kilolitres/annum. This particular system is designed to pack glass bottles at outputs of over 70 cases/min.

Other features on the case packers include a second blank feeding unit to decrease the relative speed of blanks introduced into the packer; two independent electronic adjustable bottle selection groups – allowing a gradual flow of collated bottles to case blanks, and easily accessible blank magazines, with the option to increase capacity and for automatic blank feeding directly from the pallet.

OCME says case quality is maintained by flap closing devices, an adjustable gluing system and a positive case compression system.
