North West injection moulders merge

Injection moulding specialists Mg Plastics has acquired Stuma Plastics Ltd of Bolton in a deal worth more than £1m. Both companies will retain their names.

The Darwen-based family firm secured the deal with Stuma parent OSL Group Ltd (Sheffield) to make it one of the largest plastics injection moulding groups in the North West. Mg and Stuma jointly manufacture for industries including packaging, medical, safety and hygiene.

There is now a combined factory manufacturing and storage space of 90,000sq ft with a workforce of 120. There is more than 50 modern injection moulding machines ranging from 10 to 400 tonnes, with investment in larger machines planned in the near future.
