No mocking the child-friendly turtle

9 September 2003

Child resistant closures now come in 'turtle' form, following a new development from Capsolutions.

Named 'turtle' after the distinctively shaped flexible web of the overcap, it is designed to offer a flexible squeeze-and-turn method of operation. It is suitable for UN approved containers for the transport of hazardous goods.

The closure may be applied to a standard cap after application, turning it into a child resistant closure. This allows easy application of the standard inner cap using normal chucks, says Capsolutions.

The outer cap can be easily squeezed and turned by an adult, but without this dual action the outer cap rotates without removing the inner. It can be used with the existing range of inner caps, including tamper evident, vented and easy pour.

Turtle is available in 51mm, with other sizes – 28mm-61mm diameter – planned.
