Newby Teas was awarded a Silver at the DBA Design Effectiveness Awards for their partnership with Lewis Moberly. The awards celebrate collaboration between designers and businesses in achieving tangible business results. Newby's redesigned Silken Pyramids range elevated the design to match the high quality, award-winning tea inside.

Each box in the Silken Pyramid Collection incorporates an exquisite piece from The Chitra Collection, the world's most valuable, and largest, private tea accessories collection. The Chitra Collection was gifted by Nirmal Sethia to Newby Teas, which is in large part owned by The Nirmal Sethia Foundation.
In just two months, the redesigned range achieved record breaking sales, beating 12 months' worth of sales of the old design by 20.1%. Newby Teas has increased online sales of the Silken Pyramid range by 284% since the redesign, making it the best selling range.
Unique packing process
Newby Teas are packed at the Newby preservation, storage, blending and packing facility In Kolkata. It is shipped direct to the facility for preservation, blending and sealing. The facility is strategically located in the middle of all the tea growing regions, thus reducing transit time.
Newby prides itself on its high end, almost ethereal packaging, most of which is created by artists directly inspired by the Chitra Collection. Each teabag is individually sealed for freshness in multi-layered, beautifully designed sachets - not just a "pretty faced" teabag.
Quality First
At Newby, quality is the number one priority. Using just the leaves of a single estate means standards can vary from year to year. That's why only the finest leaves from a variety of tea gardens, picked at their most tender, are selected. Expert tasters in India sample thousands of harvests, with their recommendations sent to founder and tea specialist, Mr Sethia. Only after he has personally tasted and approved each tea will it be ready to bear the Newby name.
