New compostable bags for ‘down under’

11 April 2011

Cardia Bioplastics launched a range of certified compostable bags at Auspack Plus 2011, the trade fair for packaging, processing and plastics technology in Australasia.

The bags will be sold direct to the public and through authorised distributors in Australia and New Zealand.

According to Cardia Bioplastics Managing Director Dr Frank Glatz the company sources its own raw materials, and formulates and manufactures the resins using a proprietary technology, and produces the bags in Nanjing, China.

He says: "Cardia Compostable bags meet the most demanding standards in the world. Belgium-based Organic Waste Systems independently tested our products and confirmed that they are not toxic to either plants or earthworms.”
