New ceo Chris Buxton

28 November 2005

The Processing and Packaging Machinery Association's (PPMA) new ceo, Chris Buxton, has set out his key objectives.

Buxton, who has spent most of his career in sales and marketing with blue chip organisations, most recently working for BAE Systems, says two key priorities will be further strengthening the Association's links with UK Government departments and other trade associations and expanding its membership, particularly by recruiting more processing machinery manufacturers.

Having for the past two years been on secondment to the UK Government leading a Cabinet Office team working with industry to identify and implement solutions to "inappropriate and disproportionate regulation", Buxton feels he has a "unique insight" into how best to engage with regulators.

He is also determined the PPMA should maintain its strong training focus, build up its overseas exhibition program and continue to be known as a leading source of technical information and market knowledge.
