MWV reveals improved KlaFold packaging

22 May 2009

MeadWestvaco Corporation has responded to its customers’ interest in lower basis weight packaging by launching an enhanced version of its KlaFold paperboard product.

The updated version features a lightweight coated unbleached kraft sheet, which the company says has been designed for demanding packaging applications.

It has a three to five per cent lower basis weight, which translates into saving opportunities for packaging printers, but is claimed to offer the same strength advantages as the original KlaFold.

“Customers are looking for cost-effective alternatives, and KlaFold is a great option for those not willing to sacrifice on quality,” says Bob Feeser, president, MWV Packaging Resources Group.
