Multivac T 600 traysealer ‘compact and fully integrated’

29 March 2013

Multivac is launching a new fully automatic traysealer model in the medium output range, the T 600, which seals up to 40 trays/min and is directed primarily at small and medium-sized food producers and packers.

The Germany-based company, a specialist in the field of thermoforming packaging machinery, will exhibit the new T 600 at the IFFA meat processing trade event in Frankfurt, 4-9 May 2013.

“The T 600 is a competitively priced model with which we are closing the gap in our traysealer portfolio between the slightly smaller compact model T 300 and the high-performance model T 700,” says Multivac product manager Alexander Kult.

“We expect great interest from growing companies that want a higher level of automation and/or want to switch from manual loading of their packaging machine to a fully automated solution.”

The main application areas of the T 600 lie in the food sector, primarily in meat, sausage and convenience products, but it is also said to be suitable for the packing of seafood and fish or cheese, as well as fruit and vegetables or salad products.

The T 600 can also produce MAP packaging with and without LID film, skin Isopak packaging and Slicepac packaging.

With a tray gripper system that automatically transports the trays to be sealed into the die via a “smart belt”, the T 600 can be fitted with various cutting tools that permit the manufacture of tray packages both with protruding film (outside cut) and without it (inside cut).

“In the design of the tool, we gave special consideration to customer requirements for reducing the scope of the components to be changed to a minimum,” says Kult.

The “extremely simple” film feed is said to enable a film change in “record time”.

The T 600 was manufactured under Multivac’s Hygiene Design regime, and can be be subjected to a “complete wash-down”, the company says.

The control cabinet mounted on the side of this model means that electrical and pneumatic components are centrally accessible, facilitating easier troubleshooting and other work.

A program memory for more than 200 recipes and a choice between more than 40 operating languages are said to ensure reproducible packaging quality.
