Multi-Kleer label improved

19 April 2005

Denny Bros' new Multi-Kleer is a multi-page label for the pharmaceutical sector featuring a "peelable" label incorporated into the main wrap label design for use with a secondary item.

The inset label can be taken off the host product at some point in the distribution process to perform a useful back-up function such as acting as a note attachable to a patient's record card.

An earlier version incorporated a silicon backing sheet which included a hole or window for the label's removal. A new production method, using a PP backing sheet, eliminates the need for these holes and provides a reel that is much easier and more efficient to handle and apply.

Multi-Kleer's laminated front cover is claimed to be infinitely resealable and highly durable, protecting the booklet inside.

Alistair Neally of pharmaceutical services company Quintiles adds: "This new label system is vastly superior to the previous design we have been using. The acetate backing is far more robust than the former paper version, which means the combined label will run smoothly through our printers. This should reduce waste and printing time."
