Monster market for colour-change cans

9 June 2011

US company Chromatic Technologies (CTI) is supplying thermochromic inks to produce temperature-changing colours to launch special cans of Monster Energy drinks for the US armed forces worldwide.

The colour of the uniforms go from a ‘desert camo’ color to a cold-weather, ‘arctic blue’. The cans will turn to the ‘chilled’ art version at 10°C.

“This is a ‘first’ for both CTI and Monster Energy: it marks CTI’s inaugural launch into the vibrant energy beverage market, and also represents Monster’s initial foray into colour-changing inks,” says Steve Kaczmarek, CTI’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

CTI counts among its customers Anheuser-Busch, Cerveza Atlas, Coca-Cola, MillerCoors and Pacifico Beer.
