Mettler Toledo Safeline is targeting the bulk food product sector with a new tool to help meet stringent food industry standards.
The RB Series Profile metal detector can handle dry, wet, loose or packed meat, poultry, cheese and dairy products.
It is said to provide high detection sensitivity with a large aperture configuration to ensure the safety of bulk products.
It will detect contaminants smaller than 1.8mm in diameter including ferrous, non-ferrous and ‘difficult to identify’ non-magnetic stainless steel grades such as 316, says Mettler.
The system can be used to inspect bulk bags and sacks of granular and powdered products from 25kg to 50kg.
