Matthews Marking Systems is launching two fast dry solvent-based inks, LS-6020 and LS-6021, for its Viacode L-Series thermal ink jet (TIJ) printer.
Pittsburgh, US-based Matthews Marking Systems, a leading manufacturer of marking and coding products, says the new inks were designed to utilise TIJ printing at industrial speeds on a variety of non-porous substrates.
Each has unassisted dry times faster than two seconds and offers broad coverage for polyesters, oriented nylon, coated packaging, foils, and resins, according to the company.
Packaged in single use cartridges, LS-6020 and LS-6021 enable customers to produce high quality marks while reducing clean up, downtime, and maintenance costs typically associated with continuous ink jet (CIJ) printers.
“CPG companies and industrial marking applications will find these inks beneficial as they are easy to use, reduce waste, and increase the number of non-porous and coated stock substrates on which we can provide superior marks,” says Les Faulds, global product manager, L-Series.
Leveraging the same cartridge technology found in desktop printers, the L-Series is the second in a series of printers developed on Matthews’ popular Viacode platform, which enables complete management of enterprise marking and coding operations.
