Martek makes inkjet move

25 May 2009

Martek has introduced its Macsa iCON, a low cost laser coder aimed at the continuous ink jet market.

The new coder, suitable for marking many different materials, has a built-in colour touch screen controller, which allows quick set-up and monitoring of the system, where up to four lines of text in a choice of sizes can be printed onto stationary or moving products.

The product comes with no inks or solvents, and the company says it is easily installed on most production lines where a continuous ink jet printer would normally be used.

In addition, the product is claimed to give clear, indelible marks on a range of packaging materials and in a choice of fonts, including Macsa’s Crystal font that has been developed for high contrast marking of plastics.
