Manchester packaging dinner will raise money to improve's children's lives

5 October 2006

Manchester Kids, a UK-based grant-giving charity that seeks to improve the lives of local children with serious illnesses or disabilities or who have suffered poverty, abuse, neglect or distress, will be the chief beneficiary at the Northern Packaging Dinner, being staged by Packaging Today at the city's Midland Hotel on November 30.

Now in its 50th year, the Dinner was first held at Manchester's Grand Hotel in 1949, where famous guests included UK Labour party stalwart and, subsequent Prime Minister, Lord Harold Wilson.

Key attractions this year include a charity auction, cabaret, live entertainment and music.

The organising team is still seeking sponsor, and while over 200 tickets have already been sold, a number are still available.
