Making the most of finishing

26 March 2009

Having worked with brand specialist Attik on previous Noise books, decorative print finisher Celloglas was the partner of choice for finishing for the NoiseFive “design bible”.

Celloglas director Richard Pinkney says the book illustrates what brands and designers could do, “if they scoped in finishing as part of the design process”.

He explains: “Attik turned to us because they have a huge number of creative ideas, but when it came down to the finishing they were desperate to have the impossible. We live for these kind of challenges and worked with our in-house experts to work out how we could achieve the desired results.”

The company offers a number of speciality products, but with this project each was adapted still further for the bespoke needs required.

Photocromatic technology was employed on key pages in the book, as a selection of designs are light reactive. Other effects used included printing on silver latex, and screen printing to create bespoke colourings by mixing palettes of colours.
