MAF Servo Fox is a fast mover

6 May 2004

A shrinkwrapper believed to be the world's first to be entirely servomotor driven that can reach speeds up to 50% higher than traditional, mechanically-driven machines has been introduced by Sussex & Berkshire Machinery, UK agent for German manufacturer MAF.

The servo technology allows adjustment to the product's characteristics, thus delivering much higher speeds.

S&B sales director Andy Bannister explains: "Most twin reel shrinkwrappers are capable of around 25 packs/min, but the MAF Servo Fox can achieve 40 packs/min, since each machine movement can be independently adjusted. For example, collations can be accelerated as they are transferred into the machine rather than handled by the usual fixed speed pneumatic pusher."
