Norwegian brewer Mack has chosen a Rexam 50cl can to package its Mack 1877 beer, made especially for the company’s 135th anniversary this year.
Tromsø-based Mack – reputed to be the most northerly brewery in the world – is said to have taken advantage of Rexam’s advanced printing techniques to optimise the traditional design of the can, which features a photo of the brewery's founder Ludwig Mack.
“The can’s design has a nostalgic feel, but Rexam’s can ensures it still looks exclusive and stands out from our competitors,” said Eva Johnsen, manager of planning & purchasing at Mack.
First launched in February, Mack 1877 is a Bohemian pilsner-style beer.
Christian Nilsson, sales manager for the Nordic region at Rexam Beverage Can added: “This is a great example of how a simple design can be made really effective by great packaging.
