Mack chooses Rexam cans for anniversary beer

23 April 2012

Norwegian brewer Mack has chosen a Rexam 50cl can to package its Mack 1877 beer, made especially for the company’s 135th anniversary this year.

Tromsø-based Mack – reputed to be the most northerly brewery in the world – is said to have taken advantage of Rexam’s advanced printing techniques to optimise the traditional design of the can, which features a photo of the brewery's founder Ludwig Mack.

“The can’s design has a nostalgic feel, but Rexam’s can ensures it still looks exclusive and stands out from our competitors,” said Eva Johnsen, manager of planning & purchasing at Mack.

First launched in February, Mack 1877 is a Bohemian pilsner-style beer.

Christian Nilsson, sales manager for the Nordic region at Rexam Beverage Can added: “This is a great example of how a simple design can be made really effective by great packaging. We look forward to continuing to work with Mack to maintain the tradition of their brand while creating exciting new products.”
