Macfarlane disposes of Irish plastics operations

The Macfarlane Group is to sell its Macfarlane Plastics business in Ireland to Procap Holdings for £1.7 mn. Macfarlane Plastics made an operating loss of £0.1 mn on turnover of £6 mn in the 12 months to December 31, 2007.

Archie Hunter, chairman of Macfarlane Group, says: “The disposal of the plastics business is another key step which enables us to focus on our operations in packaging distribution and the specialist manufacturing of labels and transit packaging.”
