Board production at Finnish M-Real Tako is undergoing a radical change as the mill swaps ground wood folding boxboard for Chemi Thermo Mechanical Pulp as the main raw material.
"With these new grades we can offer a cleaner, brighter and stronger product without the loss of the all-important stiffness, bulk and yield," said Neil Fox of IBP Global Solutions.
Recommended for gravure and offset printing, Tako's new range of CTMP products comprises Tako CX 200-230gsm without optical bleaching agents; Tako CX White 170-230gsm with OBA; Tako CX Foil 215gsm and Tako CX Lite 200-230gsm.
