Lower cost spice bag solution

The two-layer composite film is also metal-free, eliminating the need (as with conventional aluminium bags) to check spices for metal packaging residues prior to packing. Kobusch stresses that with the base PE material “quicker to source” than aluminium, the metal-free bags can be produced more quickly than their alu counterparts, while its significantly thinner structure enables production at a lower cost yet with similar performance. The film can be specified with an enhanced barrier layer, and its water permeability tailored via the PE thickness and grade selected. Laminating to PP will allow A-B sealing.

With improved tear resistance consumers should also find the spice bags easier to open, with less chance of spillage.
