Low wastage bag-in-box

Rapak says its innovative bag-in-box solution for Danish sauce manufacturer Bahncke, ensuring optimum drainage for its products, highlights the value of its newly agreed Danish agency agreement with APS Soldana.

Bahncke asked Rapak to develop bags for an apple-flavoured ketchup that would give it and its customers the maximum yield with minimum wastage. Rapak's solution uses a "double delta-seal" to channel product into the gland opening and hanging bag technology to ensure a downward gravity feed.

The 5- and 10-litre bags were made using metallised polyester outer layers with polyethylene inner films, a combination that provides excellent barrier protection to ensure a long ambient shelf life.

Rapak business development manager Mark Rose adds: "This product launch marks an exciting time for us in Denmark. With APS Soldana's knowledge and support, customers like Bahncke can capitalise on Rapak's globally recognised bag-in-box expertise with the added benefit of local back-up."
