Linx opens new ink plant

31 August 2010

Supplier of inkjet printers and laser coders Linx Printing Technologies has completed a £1 million, state-of-the-art ink manufacturing plant at its St Ives headquarters in the UK, which provides inks and solvents to customers worldwide.

The new facility gives Linx an integrated fluid manufacturing and dispatch operation which will improve delivery time to customers significantly. The plant encompasses the Lean Manufacturing philosophy of parent company Danaher, and a new volumetric filling machine allowing it to produce made-to-order inks in the shortest possible time.

The new building follows partial damage to the existing facility after a fire in June 2009, and incorporates advanced safety features to avoid future incidents.
