Among several new machines launched by Linx at interpack was the IJ600 Twinhead outer case coder which enables multiple carton face printing from a single control unit.
The IJ600 twinhead provides "exceptional quality" graphics, text and barcodes on all porous surfaces and, with both printheads operated by a single control unit,is easy to maintain and operate. Each head can print large and small characters, logos and barcodes up to 70mm high onto secondary packaging using an oil-based ink. The self-cleaning printhead will print in any orientation up to eight metres from the control unit.
Linx also unveiled its Xymark LC laser perforating system which "provides an all-in-one solution" for manufacturers wanting a laser-based system to create micro-perforations for modified atmosphere packaging and/or to score flexible packaging films for "easy tear" openings. For the former, it can be programmed to generate different hole patterns to enable the right gas exchange conditions to be created for particular products to prevent carbon dioxide build-up.
A third interpack launch, the Xymark 500 SL high power laser scribing system, has its laser tube housed in a rugged IP65 steel enclosure, and is designed to print high quality graphics, text and barcodes in even the most challenging production environments at up to 500m/min.
