Astra Plastique, part of the Global Closure Systems group, calls its new standard closure Isis Light ‘one of the lightest tamper evident edible oil closures on the market’.
At 1.2g, it weighs 45% less than the original Isis closure to meet the demands of the cost driven edible oil market.
The choice of resin was the key to obtaining the ideal sealing performance and improved functionality, says the company. Modifications to the design of the tamper evident tear-off band have made the closure easier to open: in-mould pre-cut ends lift more easily, for example.
Now performing even better on customer’s capping lines, says Astra Plastique, Isis Light is being adopted by branded and private label vegetable oils.
“With Isis Light we can continue to meet the closure performance demands of the edible oil market at a much more competitive price point,” says Sandra Goron, Food Market Manager for Astra Plastique.
