Lighting up time

Eastman Chemical's Glass Polymer resin was reportedly the only material able to meet the aesthetic, functional and manufacturing criteria set by perfume producer 331 International for the striking computer mouse-shaped bottle for its new Ether de lunx perfume.

Currently only available from selected French and Belgian outlets, the perfume is housed in a glass polymer container that "looks black all over", until lifted, when it lights up thanks to a combination of LEDs, light cells and batteries concealed inside.

A key requirement for the packaging material was a surface that would remain as smooth and unblemished as possible following injection moulding. The pack is produced by MBF Plastiques.
