Laminated protection

2 June 2004

Sessions of York's new PLX printer laminator is designed to protect label surfaces in harsh environments.

Incorporating a specially designed laminating station, the thermal printer allows variable information to be overprinted and subsequently protected by a tough laminate.

Film laminate is applied to the label and cut to provide an overhang of the laminate on the self-adhesive label.

Sessions will supply labels to withstand extreme temperatures and can also provide a two-layer laminate.

The upper layer is used as a mask for spray painting, after which it is manually removed, leaving the final scuff-resistant laminate "in pristine condition".
