In Germany the circle has been closed for PET non-returnable and rejected returnable bottles. With the commissioning of a new recycling facility run by Cleanaway Plastic Recycling, 15 000 tons of PET beverage bottles every year can be processed into food-grade recyclate and so re-used to make new PET containers. Krones installed the entire system featuring the patented URRC process.
