Machinery manufacturer Krones has purchased 100% of the stock in HST Maschinenbau GmbH, a German company that designs and manufactures homogenisers and reciprocating pumps for the food and beverage industries.
In what the company describes as a “strategic decision”, Krones is planning to upgrade its future corporate capabilities in the field of process technology, designed for producing juices and milk, and to expand its global service and maintenance business in this sector.
Located near the German Baltic coastal town of Dassow, HST Maschinenbau is a profitable company, achieving a turnover of almost €5 million in 2012, with a workforce of around 25 people.
The agreement is subject to approval by the antitrust regulators.
