Korsnäs invests millions in energy and environment

7 December 2009

Swedish paperboard producer Korsnäs reports that a more efficient, new evaporator plant being built at Gävle, due to be finished in May 2010, will reduce oil use by almost 50% and cut carbon dioxide emissions by an equivalent amount.

At SEK570m (€55m), it is ‘an extremely important investment’ for Korsnäs, says Korsnäs CEO Christer Simrén.

Four evaporator plants are being replaced with one. When it comes to evaporation, Korsnäs in Gävle will be ‘a cutting-edge plant’ and help make it more competitive, says the company.
