Kodak system to ‘revolutionise’ path to market for brands

Kodak believes its ‘revolutionary’ Flexcel NX Digital Flexographic System will help change the way packaging producers bring brands to market.

National Flexibles and Kodak customer Reproflex 3 were seen recently at easyFairs Packaging Innovations show at the NEC Birmingham, UK, demonstrating creative samples of flexible packaging produced using the system.

According to Kodak, the flexographic system enables true one-to-one reproduction of the image from file to plate, for levels of print quality normally expected from gravure, offset or digital printing. Make-ready wastage costs can decline by 25% and their plates are capable of run lengths two to four times greater than traditional digital plates, adds the company.

“Kodak is asking the packaging owner to take a fresh look at how they bring their brand to market,” says Jonathan Moore, Kodak Packaging Sales Director for the UK and Nordic regions. “But what it can do for sales and profitability really steals the show. Increasing shelf impact, adding depth of colour and improving clarity of print can help put the brand in pride of place and make it stand out from the crowd.”
