Kite Packaging, an employee-owned packaging distribution business, has acquired the industrial packaging business of Bunzl Cleaning and Hygiene Supplies based at Hayes, UK.
Key members of the Bunzl team are said to have joined Kite Packaging and will aim to ensure that the transfer of business will be seamless between the two companies.
Customers will have access to Kite’s inventory, including its Enviro range and Kite’s environmental compliance scheme.
Kite has grown since 2001 to become one of the largest packaging distributors in the UK market, the company says. It is looking to expand further through organic growth of its existing operations, acquisitions and branch expansion – it currently runs six sites.
Kite believes its success is due to a clear market focus on large users of packaging who require mainly bespoke product. It offers services such as ‘stock and serve, ‘just in time’, and direct line feed through to vendor-managed inventory.
The Kite Group also includes a web based distributor (www.thepackagingstore.co.uk) covering the B2B and B2C sectors; and Kite Environmental Solutions which operates a government-approved Packaging Regulations Compliance Scheme.
